What is Believing Tree?

The Believing Story

When I was 13, my uncle began gifting me small wooden signs engraved with the word "Believe." I placed these signs beside my bed, and each morning, they served as a gentle reminder of the importance of believing in myself and something greater. Little did I know, these simple tokens would become pivotal in helping me navigate the challenges of my teenage years. It was the power of hope and belief that enabled me to overcome significant obstacles. When applying for college, I wrote my personal statement about those wooden signs and the profound meaning of "believe."

Fast forward to my senior year of college. As Christmas approached, I found myself in our university dining hall, once again grappling with uncertainty about the future. In that moment, I turned to belief and prayer. God continued to remind me of the transformative power of hope. Gazing at an artificial Christmas tree at the entrance, I reflected on how Christmas trees symbolize family, warmth, hope, and love. Yet, I envisioned a way to breathe life into those artificial trees and bring families together even more.

Thus, the idea of the Believing Tree was born—a Christmas tradition designed to unite families, teach children the significance of hope and belief, and create a meaningful educational experience for families around the world. Through the Believing Tree, we can spread the power of hope, one tree at a time, shaping a brighter future together.

How It Works

  1. Remove the Believing Tree from box

  2. Pull open branches and set in visible location

  3. Place ornaments in a secret location

  4. Read the Believing Tree story to child

  5. As acts of hope, belief, kindness, and other important acts associated with the Christmas season are performed, add a new ornament to the tree after child falls asleep.

  6. Repeat for the 12 days of Christmas

  7. Watch each morning as the Christmas spirit comes to life

  8. On Christmas Eve, turn the Believing Tree lights on
